Representative Sermons

Sermons prepared by the director of Personal Ministries and others.

When God Ran

Have you ever asked yourself the question, what is God really like? What kind of God is He? What would He be like if I met Him in person?

Dare to be a Daniel

Have you ever failed to stand up for your convictions? Or have you ever failed to stand up for something you knew was right?

The Heart of a Soul-Winner

How many of you have ever heard of the Mount of Olives? The mount of Olives is a small ridge/mountain in the Judean countryside just outside the city of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives is mentioned many times throughout the Bible because it's a place where many significant events occurred.

Touching the Face of Jesus

Why would a beggar make me feel uncomfortable? Why would I be so reluctant to share my blessings with him? And then I asked myself, "does Jesus really care how we treat people like that?"

The Eleventh Commandment

This letter was written to one of our pastors who was speaking at a conference. Unfortunately, it is a true story. It's a blaring example of how the church can have all its doctrines right, but blatantly neglect to honor the eleventh commandment.

Save the Children

The father woke up and glanced at the clock on the wall. Shock registered on his face and horror gripped His heart. He didn't realize it was so late. As He looked out the window He saw His three youngest children out on the island collecting sea shells and the tide was coming in strong.

Matthew's Party

I had an appointment to get to. As I was on my way out the door, I realized I didn’t have my car keys. And I quickly discovered I didn’t know where they were. I had lost them. Then began a very intense search to find these lost keys.

Jesus and the Demoniac

Jesus had just spent the entire day with the multitudes of people. There by the Sea of Galilee a vast number of people had gathered around Jesus to hear Him. Since so many people were coming, Jesus spent the entire day with the people—teaching them through parables—bringing out important spiritual lessons through stories.

Touching the Face of Jesus

Why would a beggar make me feel uncomfortable? Why would I be so reluctant to share my blessings with him? And then I asked myself, "does Jesus really care how we treat people like that?"

Jesus and the Storm

How many of you have ever gotten caught in a storm? How many of you have ever gotten caught in a storm while you're driving? I mean a storm where the sky is pitch black, the rain is pounding on your windshield, you can barely see out the window, your wipers aren't going fast enough, the lightning is flashing, and the thundering is rumbling so loud you can feel it.

Matthew's Party

I had an appointment to get to. As I was on my way out the door, I realized I didn’t have my car keys. And I quickly discovered I didn’t know where they were. I had lost them. Then began a very intense search to find these lost keys.

Jonah: God's Call on Your LIfe

Have you ever said “no” to God? Have you ever sensed that God was calling you to do something and you said “no”? Have you ever sensed that God was calling you to take some kind of action or make some kind of decision and you said “no”? Or have you ever been impressed that you should befriend someone and be a witness to them, but you resisted?
